Ingredients
- 1 pound pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, or until tomatoes have softened and created a sauce.
- Stir in fresh basil.
- Drain pasta and add it to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss to combine.
- Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- Use high-quality, ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
- Adjust the amount of basil to your preference.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
