Description

Enjoy flavorful and easy Sticky Chicken Rice Bowls. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Add chicken to the bowl and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add chicken and marinade to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Serve chicken over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preference.
  • For a thicker sauce, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water and add to the skillet during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Serve with your favorite steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
