Enjoy flavorful and easy Sticky Chicken Rice Bowls. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Add chicken to the bowl and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and marinade to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and sauce has thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
- Serve chicken over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preference.
- For a thicker sauce, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water and add to the skillet during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Serve with your favorite steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
