Description
A quick and flavorful shrimp rice bowl with a spicy honey garlic glaze, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha (or more, to taste)
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Optional toppings: sesame seeds, chopped green onions, sliced jalapeños
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, and sriracha. Set aside.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour the honey-garlic mixture into the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
- Whisk in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Serve the spicy honey garlic shrimp over cooked rice.
- Garnish with optional toppings if desired.
Notes
- Adjust sriracha amount for desired spice level.
- For a thicker sauce, use slightly less water with the cornstarch.
