Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.
- In a large bowl, toss the green beans with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place the seasoned chicken thighs on one side of the prepared baking sheet. Arrange the seasoned green beans on the other side.
- Brush or pour half of the honey garlic sauce over the chicken thighs.
- Roast for 15 minutes.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Flip the chicken thighs and brush them with the remaining honey garlic sauce. Toss the green beans to ensure even cooking.
- Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for another 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the green beans are tender-crisp.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired, before serving.
Notes
- For crispier green beans, you can roast them for 5-10 minutes before adding the chicken to the pan.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- If you prefer thicker sauce, you can reduce the honey garlic sauce mixture slightly on the stovetop before pouring it over the chicken.
