Description

These quick Christmas cranberry meatballs are a perfect savory and sweet appetizer for any holiday gathering. They are easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (10 oz) jar cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
  4. Place the meatballs in a baking dish.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
  6. While the meatballs are baking, combine cranberry sauce and chili sauce in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  7. Drain any excess fat from the meatballs.
  8. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and stir to coat.
  9. Return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • You can make the meatballs ahead of time and refrigerate them. Bake and sauce them just before serving.
