These quick Christmas cranberry meatballs are a perfect savory and sweet appetizer for any holiday gathering. They are easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (10 oz) jar cranberry sauce
- 1/4 cup chili sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
- Place the meatballs in a baking dish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, combine cranberry sauce and chili sauce in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Drain any excess fat from the meatballs.
- Pour the sauce over the meatballs and stir to coat.
- Return to the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- You can make the meatballs ahead of time and refrigerate them. Bake and sauce them just before serving.
- Adjust the amount of chili sauce to your spice preference.
