Ingredients
- 1 pound spicy Italian sausage, removed from casings
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 pound pasta (penne or rotini)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown sausage in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease.
- Add onion and garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in red pepper flakes.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
- Add pasta to the pot. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until pasta is cooked through and sauce has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
