Description

A quick and flavorful one-pot meal featuring tender beef and chewy udon noodles stir-fried with a savory sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef sirloin
  • 1 cup sliced yellow onion
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup sliced red bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 12 ounces pre-cooked udon noodles
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add onion, broccoli, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add udon noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles and beef, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Stir in sesame oil and green onions.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
  • You can substitute other vegetables like snap peas, carrots, or mushrooms.
  • Ensure your beef is sliced thinly for quick cooking.
