A quick and flavorful one-pot meal featuring tender beef and chewy udon noodles stir-fried with a savory sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound thinly sliced beef sirloin
- 1 cup sliced yellow onion
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup sliced red bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 12 ounces pre-cooked udon noodles
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Add onion, broccoli, and red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Add garlic and ginger and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add udon noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Return the beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens and coats the noodles and beef, about 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in sesame oil and green onions.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
- You can substitute other vegetables like snap peas, carrots, or mushrooms.
- Ensure your beef is sliced thinly for quick cooking.
