Description

Italian Sausage Rigatoni is a quick and easy pasta dish. It is perfect for a weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, removed from casing
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  1. Cook rigatoni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown Italian sausage over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add cooked rigatoni to the skillet and toss to coat.
  6. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
