Description
Tender chicken thighs coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. This easy recipe delivers a flavorful meal perfect for any night of the week.
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs, skin-side down, until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Flip the chicken thighs and sear the other side for 2-3 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken thighs in the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- While the chicken is baking, whisk together cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry.
- Remove the skillet from the oven. Spoon some of the sauce from the pan over the chicken.
- Place the skillet back in the oven for another 5 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Remove from oven, let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve with rice or your favorite side dish.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
