Description

Tender chicken thighs coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce. This easy recipe delivers a flavorful meal perfect for any night of the week.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken thighs, skin-side down, until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Flip the chicken thighs and sear the other side for 2-3 minutes.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  6. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken thighs in the skillet.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. While the chicken is baking, whisk together cornstarch and water in a small bowl to create a slurry.
  9. Remove the skillet from the oven. Spoon some of the sauce from the pan over the chicken.
  10. Place the skillet back in the oven for another 5 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken slightly.
  11. Remove from oven, let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with rice or your favorite side dish.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
