Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Cooked egg noodles, for serving


Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add the onion and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the beef and vegetables and stir to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Gradually whisk in the beef broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream and Dijon mustard.
  6. Serve the stroganoff over cooked egg noodles.
