Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.
- In a bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup and milk.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, followed by the ground beef mixture, and then the remaining potatoes.
- Pour the soup mixture over the potatoes.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove foil and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
- Bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

- You can use different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or Monterey Jack.
- Add vegetables like carrots or peas for extra nutrients.
- For a richer flavor, use cream instead of milk.
