Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Place chicken thighs in the crockpot.
- In a bowl, whisk together teriyaki sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic powder, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until chicken is cooked through and easily shreds.
- Shred the chicken with two forks directly in the crockpot.
- Serve over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred level of spiciness.
