These Cranberry Cream Cheese Crescent Bites are an easy and festive appetizer perfect for fall gatherings and holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. They combine sweet cranberries with creamy cream cheese wrapped in flaky crescent rolls.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the whole berry cranberry sauce until just combined.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough. Separate each sheet into triangles.
- Spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the wider end of each crescent roll triangle.
- Roll up the crescent rolls from the wide end to the point.
- Place the rolled crescent bites onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the crescent bites with the beaten egg wash.
- Sprinkle with coarse sugar, if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother filling, you can use jellied cranberry sauce and chop it finely.
- These bites can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking. Adjust baking time if baking from cold.
