Description

Enjoy a comforting Chicken Gravy Bake with creamy mashed potatoes. This dish is perfect for a hearty family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 3-4 minutes per side, then remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onion until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Melt butter in the skillet. Whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk until thickened.
  6. Season gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Place mashed potatoes in a baking dish.
  8. Pour gravy over the potatoes.
  9. Arrange seared chicken breasts on top of the gravy.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken for a quicker meal.
