Description

Hearty beefy tortellini bake, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 20 oz frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add tortellini to the sauce and stir to combine.
  6. Pour mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • You can substitute Italian sausage for the ground beef.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables, such as bell peppers or mushrooms.
