Ingredients
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 pound broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
- Add beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, brown sugar, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, and remaining soy sauce.
- Pour sauce over broccoli and cook until broccoli is tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, add a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water) to the skillet during the last minute of cooking.
- Adjust the amount of brown sugar to your taste.
- Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
