Description

A classic Patty Melt with a special sauce that makes it irresistible. This recipe is perfect for a quick and delicious meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with chopped onion. Form into four equal patties.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and Dijon mustard for the secret sauce.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. While patties are cooking, toast the rye bread slices.
  6. Assemble the sandwiches: place a patty on one slice of toast, top with Swiss cheese, and then add another slice of toast.
  7. Spread a generous amount of secret sauce on the top slice of toast.
  8. Return sandwiches to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until cheese is melted and golden brown.
  9. Serve immediately.
