A classic Patty Melt with a special sauce that makes it irresistible. This recipe is perfect for a quick and delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 slices rye bread
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with chopped onion. Form into four equal patties.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and Dijon mustard for the secret sauce.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
- While patties are cooking, toast the rye bread slices.
- Assemble the sandwiches: place a patty on one slice of toast, top with Swiss cheese, and then add another slice of toast.
- Spread a generous amount of secret sauce on the top slice of toast.
- Return sandwiches to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Serve immediately.
