Description

This Million Dollar Chicken Casserole is the ultimate comfort food, combining creamy shredded chicken, a rich blend of cheeses, and a buttery cracker topping. It’s simple to prepare, packed with flavor, and perfect for busy weeknights or make-ahead meals.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, mix the shredded chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until fully combined.
  3. Transfer to Dish: Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Make Topping: In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers and melted butter. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the casserole.
  5. Bake: Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes or until the top is golden and the casserole is hot and bubbly.
  6. Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, use low-fat cream cheese and Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Add steamed broccoli or spinach for extra nutrition. The casserole can be frozen before baking and reheated for easy meal prep.
