Description

This Kalamata White Bean Dip is a bold and creamy Mediterranean-inspired appetizer made with simple pantry staples like white beans, Kalamata olives, olive oil, and garlic. It comes together in just 10 minutes and makes the perfect vegan, dairy-free alternative to hummus for snacking, spreading, or entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) white beans (Cannellini or Great Northern), drained and rinsed
  • ⅔ cup pitted Kalamata olives, drained
  • 1 tablespoon Kalamata olive brine
  • 1 garlic clove, roughly chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 10 twists of freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of salt (to taste)
  • Optional: chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend the Base: Add white beans, Kalamata olives, olive brine, garlic, olive oil, black pepper, and salt to a food processor.
  2. Process Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients until the dip is creamy and well combined, scraping down the sides as needed.
  3. Adjust to Taste: Taste and add more olive brine, lemon juice, or herbs as needed to balance flavor.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Transfer to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Use warm beans for a creamier dip. If it’s too thick, add a splash of water or more olive oil while blending. For a smoky twist, try adding a pinch of smoked paprika or roasted garlic.
