Description
Enjoy a simple and flavorful Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta made in one pot.
Ingredients
- 1 pound pasta (penne, rotini, or your choice)
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 4 cups vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper.
- Add pasta and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is cooked through and liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until sauce is creamy and cheese is melted.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- You can substitute vegetable broth with chicken broth.
- Add other vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrients.
