A simple and delicious pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp in a creamy lemon garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound linguine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook linguine according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese and lemon juice.
- Return shrimp to the skillet. Add cooked linguine and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in fresh parsley. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
- You can substitute other pasta shapes like fettuccine or spaghetti.
