Description

A rich and creamy shrimp alfredo pasta dish with a garlicky flavor, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  5. Pour heavy cream into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is smooth.
  7. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Add cooked fettuccine and reserved pasta water to the skillet. Toss to coat pasta with sauce.
  9. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss gently to combine.
  10. Stir in chopped parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • You can substitute other pasta shapes for fettuccine.
  • Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
