A rich and creamy shrimp alfredo pasta dish with a garlicky flavor, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- While pasta cooks, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Pour heavy cream into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add cooked fettuccine and reserved pasta water to the skillet. Toss to coat pasta with sauce.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and toss gently to combine.
- Stir in chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes with the garlic.
- You can substitute other pasta shapes for fettuccine.
- Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
