Description
A quick and flavorful shrimp dish cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat in the sauce.
- Stir in the chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes with the garlic.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
- Optional: Add a squeeze of lemon juice at the end for brightness.
