Description
A savory cheddar bacon Dutch baby is a simple and hearty breakfast or brunch option.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a blender, combine eggs, flour, milk, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.
- Place butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet and put in the preheating oven until melted.
- Remove skillet from oven and pour batter into the hot skillet.
- Sprinkle crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese over the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a sweeter Dutch baby, omit the salt, pepper, bacon, and cheddar cheese, and add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar to the batter.
- You can use different types of cheese or toppings to customize your Dutch baby.
