Description

A savory cheddar bacon Dutch baby is a simple and hearty breakfast or brunch option.


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a blender, combine eggs, flour, milk, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.
  3. Place butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet and put in the preheating oven until melted.
  4. Remove skillet from oven and pour batter into the hot skillet.
  5. Sprinkle crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese over the batter.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a sweeter Dutch baby, omit the salt, pepper, bacon, and cheddar cheese, and add 1-2 tablespoons of sugar to the batter.
