Ingredients
- 1 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder
- 1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1/2 cup hot water (not boiling)
- 3/4 cup oat milk or preferred milk
- Ice cubes (for iced version)
Instructions
- Make the Blueberry Puree: Blend the blueberries and maple syrup until smooth. For a silky texture, strain to remove skins.
- Prepare the Matcha: In a small bowl, sift matcha powder. Add hot water and whisk briskly in a zigzag motion until frothy.
- Assemble the Drink: Add ice to a tall glass. Pour in the blueberry puree, then slowly add the milk. Gently float the matcha on top using the back of a spoon.
- Serve: Enjoy the layered effect or stir before sipping for a beautiful blend of flavors.
Notes
For a hot version, warm the blueberry puree and milk before assembling. Use ceremonial grade matcha for the best flavor and color. Fresh blueberries give a brighter flavor, but frozen work perfectly for consistency. Add a dash of vanilla for a warm twist.
